Noknoc is where your street comes together. Share local updates, rehome items, have friendly chats or simply stay informed; Noknoc turns your street of strangers into a connected community.
Launching 2026
What is Noknoc?
Your immediate community. There when you need it.
Noknoc is a shared group chat for your street or building, a place to keep up with your neighbours and anything to do with the place you all call home. Whether that’s bin day changes, roadworks, a bang in the night, or just a quick heads-up.
Some neighbours are active and like to chat and some prefer to keep quiet and simply stay informed. Either way, Noknoc gives the people who live closest to each other one safe and easy place to stay connected.
Made for everyday street life.
Simply download, verify your address and get connected to the people who live closest to you.
Private to your street
Only verified neighbours can join your street or building chat.
Your details stay private, and you choose what you share.
Stay in the loop
Whether it's lost pets, suspicious activity, or even a heads-up about a house party ending late, you’ll know whats happening nearby.
Share, swap and sell
Rehome items, lend what you’re not using, and sell to people just up the road. Keeping it local makes everyday life easier.
Meet your community
Plan a BBQ, share your small business, or welcome new neighbours. It’s an easy way to get to know the people living around you.
Our story
Noknoc started as a simple idea between two nextdoor neighbours (Khai and Archanaa) on a street in south London.
“What if everyone on the street had one shared place to stay connected?”
Whilst away at university, the block Khai lived in faced a number of problems. Misplaced deliveries, maintainance issues and trespassers to name a few. Information was fragmented and rarely reached everyone who lived there.
So instead of knocking on doors every time something happened, Khai made a simple group chat to unify the block. It worked better than expected!
Fast forward, both Khai and Archanaa graduated and returned home to a street which faced its own set of challenges. Khai shared his story with Archanaa who championed the idea and pushed to replicate it.
Initially it wasn’t about creating an app or chatting for the sake of it. We just wanted an easier way to address and share what was happening locally so a WhatsApp group chat was set up for the street.
It quickly became part of everyday life.Neighbours who’d never met started helping each other out. Information spread evenly.
The street felt more connected and comfortable simply because people could communicate easily.
After seeing the impact, Khai and Archanaa began helping other streets and today more than 30 streets across London have set up their own street/block chats.
Noknoc is the next step.
While WhatsApp made the idea possible, Noknoc is being built specifically for street level communities. It will make chats safer, more private, and easier to manage for the people who live there.
Because sometimes the people who can help you most are the ones who live just a few doors away.
Your chat in action.
Real examples from real people testing the concept.
(Personal information randomised)
Finding lost pets, borrowing equipment or simply sharing a reminder about the date change of bin collection.
Neighbours have been using the chat as intended for everyday life and solving problems that could have taken hours in minutes.

Yes — Noknoc is designed with your safety first.
Every user goes through a simple address-based verification process, and you’ll only ever have access to the group chat for your own street or flat. Your personal details stay private, and you decide exactly how much you want to share (e.g. your door number). We make connecting easy, but we make your security the priority. -
Currently you can sign up with your email to receive news and updates, join the waitlist and even join the beta. Be among the first to get early access when we launch in your area.

While we may share similar features and goals, our focus is on hyperlocal connections which are facilitated by our dedicated street group chats. Other apps still require individuals to go out and gather your neighbours information laboriously to manually create a group chat. We cut out the middleman and facilitate every street with it’s own dedicated group chat so you don’t have to.
-
Where do we start?! Pretty much anything neighbourly. You can share events, local updates, items for sale, lending or giving away. Access tailored local discounts, requests for help, volunteer opportunities, lost & found, community-related organisation and more! If it helps your street or neighbourhood, it belongs here.
